Vera Joffe, Ph.D., ABPP is Board Certified in Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology. Licensed in FL and in NY. She is also Certified as a Therapist in PCIT (Parent Child Interaction Therapist) and in PCIT-SM (PCIT Protocol for Selective Mutism). Dr. Joffe is originally from Brazil and she provides consultation for families who are immigrating from Brazil and other countries to the United States. She also provides consultation to parents, teachers, and training for professionals around the world. 

Dr. Joffe has been working in the areas of Selective Mutism for the last 31 years. She also works with other neuro-developmental disorders, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder, Separation Anxiety Disorder (and other anxiety disorders), ADHD, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, Tourette Syndrome. Her approach is three fold:

1. Neuro-developmental approach and individualized assessment and treatment plan for each child and family.

2. Psycho-educational approach to parents, teachers, and others involved in child's life. 

3. Empirically-based treatment such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Parent Child Interaction Therapy. Culturally sensitive and environmentally based therapy. 

Dr. Joffe is physically located in Coral Springs (Broward County) and in Aventura (Dade County). However, she provides services in TELEHEALTH to many countries and in English and in Portuguese.

This is a class that will include a small group of children (who will be grouped by age and by needs) to help with social skills, with interacting, and with anxiety. We will have an activity with art, and with expressive arts as well.
